At a time when resources are stretched to the limit, organizations must fully tap the skills and abilities of each and every worker.  The critical first step is for all workers to be treated with respect and dignity.  This is supported by a thorough understanding of the legal requirements and company policy and practices designed to provide an open environment free of harassment, discrimination and abuse.  This program meets the requirements of California’s new sexual harassment training law.

Program Description

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Define harassment, discrimination and abuse.
  • Discover how perceptions and images affect behavior.
  • Know the legal requirements, company policy and practices to maintain an open environment.
  • Identify what constitutes sexual harassment and practice the behavior necessary to avoid it.
  • Learn supervisory responsibility, actions to take to prevent retaliation, and remedies available.
  • Identify resources, tools and strategies for treating others with respect and dignity.

TIME INVESTMENT: Typically 4 hrs

This module gives participants an opportunity to recognize the positive elements of having an open environment free of harassment, discrimination and abuse.  Participants concentrate on the legal requirements and company policy and practices that are designed to provide such an environment.  Additionally, participants discuss the elements of sexual harassment and identify ways to ensure that harassment does not occur in the workplace.  Supervisory responsibilities and actions are discussed.  Participants discuss the value of respecting others and ways to promote a positive workplace environment.
