Safety and Sanitation in the Workplace
Impact on the Organization
Many organizations are required by law to maintain high levels
of sanitation while others do so to protect the health of their
employees and customers. Once contaminated, products and the
work environment become threats to the company’s existence.
Regardless of the reason, sanitation is becoming an essential
component of business operations and safety. As discussed in
this training program, proper sanitation is the responsibility
of each and every worker.
Program Description
In this module participants discuss what sanitation is and why
it is important in the workplace. Consequences of poor sanitation
are discussed, and how sanitation (both good and poor) relate
to product quality and customer satisfaction. Definitions are
introduced so that participants know the difference between cleaning,
sanitizing, disinfecting and sterilizing. Personal hygiene is
discussed and participants have the opportunity to look at sanitation
problems at their location, and solutions to correct them. Participants
are guided through potential sanitary issues and ways to avoid
them, and finally participants are presented with proper safety
equipment, good equipment design and proper warehouse sanitation
techniques.
Time Investment
